ZONING/MUNICIPAL LAW

One of our particular areas of interest is zoning and related municipal law.  Some areas of Northern Michigan, such as Gaylord, Charlevoix and Traverse City, are rapidly developing, severely compromising existing residential, agricultural, recreational or natural uses of land.  As a result, we have been heavily involved in a number of lawsuits to stop the construction of mobile home parks in agricultural areas, apartment complexes in recreational areas, commercial districts in established residential areas, and enormous shopping malls in areas where they would entirely disrupt the surrounding community.
